Vigyan Ashram has developed a small-scale milk processing unit tailored for rural and tribal communities. The system enables the production of value-added dairy products such as curd, paneer, ghee, and flavored milk. It includes essential equipment like pasteurizers, boilers, and basic dairy tools, designed for easy use in batches of 25–50 liters, making it ideal for decentralized processing at the village level.

Current Status The technology is currently operational in several villages across Maharashtra and is actively used at Vigyan Ashram for training and demonstration purposes. It has been implemented under various rural development initiatives supported by DST and NIF. The milk processing unit has helped local communities enhance milk value, create micro-enterprises, and improve income through rural dairy product marketing.
